Non-affiliation
Hyaecord is an independent, community-run open-source project. Hyaecord is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Discord Inc. "Discord" is a registered trademark of Discord Inc., used here only to describe compatibility, in accordance with nominative fair use. Hyaecord does not use Discord's logos or brand assets.
What Hyaecord is (and isn't)
- Hyaecord is an original desktop client. It does not include, copy, or redistribute Discord's proprietary client code, assets, or other copyrighted material.
- It provides a compatibility layer for the independently developed, GPL-licensed Equicord/Vencord plugin API. It is not a fork of either project's codebase.
- It contains no tools for automation, self-botting, spam, scraping, or any other abusive behavior, and such features are permanently out of scope by policy.
Discord Terms of Service
Third-party client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service. Using Hyaecord is at your own discretion and risk; the project discloses this prominently rather than hiding it. See the full disclosure in the main repository.
Licensing
- Source code: the Hyaecord Public License — a GPL-3.0-derived, source-available license. You may use, study, modify, and redistribute the code under its terms, with two conditions on top of the GPL: no commercial use (no selling, paywalling, or charging access fees for the software, forks, or plugins — voluntary tips/donations are fine), and forks/derivatives must stay open-source under the same terms.
- Branding (name, logo, mascot): not covered by the source license — all rights reserved, governed by the Trademark & Branding Policy. Forks that comply with the source license are always permitted but must be rebranded.
- No warranty: Hyaecord is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law (per the underlying GPL-3.0 §§15–16 this license derives from). Nothing in this notice limits statutory rights that cannot be waived in your jurisdiction.
Plugins
Plugins in the official registry must be open-source, free of paywalls, free of undisclosed data collection, and free of abusive functionality — see the Plugin Guidelines. Third-party plugins installed from elsewhere are not reviewed or endorsed by the project.
Complaints, takedowns & contact
If you believe any content in Hyaecord's repositories or on this site infringes your rights (copyright, trademark, or otherwise), contact the maintainers by opening an issue on the main repository, identifying the specific material and the basis of your claim. Good-faith reports are reviewed promptly, and legitimate issues are corrected. Formal notices regarding hosted infrastructure can also be directed to GitHub or Vercel under their respective DMCA/notice procedures; the project responds to and, where a notice is mistaken or abusive, will contest such notices through the counter-notice process.
